5 facts you may don't know about flannel

Flannel refers to wool, cotton, or synthetic fabric and has unique properties, such as brushed texture and softness. Research shows that the first flannel was manufactured in the UK and widely used in France in the 17th century.

Flannel has been a famous fabric for three centuries, and people love the loosely woven fabric due to its warmness, softness, and comfort. In today's article, we will talk about five facts about flannel you didn't know before. Read on!

1. Flannel Means Rubbish in the UK

Every country has its own unique culture and society. In the US, when someone says flannel, he or she is referring to the soft and comfortable wool or cotton fabric. However, in the UK, the word flannel is used as an expression.

For example, when a person says "Don't give that flannel," he or she means don't lie to don't give me this rubbish. It is a fun fact that you might not have heard before. Moreover, in the western hemisphere, an old expression "flannel mouth" means soft and faster talker like salesman or politician.

2. Flannel is organic

Many of us believed that flannel is a fabric made of synthetic material. Yes, this is true but is there anything like organic flannel. The answer is "Yes." Flannel can be both synesthetic and organic.

However, it is funny when companies and online shops claim 100% organic cotton flannel. Keep in mind that there is no such thing as 100% pure flannel. Therefore, you should shop for flannel with caution and avoid retailers that claim such a thing.

3. Round Balls on the Surface

Coffee tastes have changed so much that I remember around 2012. It's is after all the seed of a fruit. From then on, we began to work at a gradual pace, turning up the brightness a little, season after season. Today we can proudly craft a coffee with notes of lemon meringue, strawberry or passionfruit and find people on all sides of the counter are learning and developing their pallets.

4. Flannel is both for Men and Women

Many men and women argue about flannel fabric. Men say flannel is a sign of masculinity and manliness, while women consider it a feminine fabric due to its softness and comfort. Although the debate will never end, we say it is a human fabric. On a serious note, the flannel fabric has been a constant companion of the clothing industry and well suited for both men and women.

5. Flannel Repels Moisture

Flannel has excellent heat retention properties, making it a great choice for winter clothing, blankets, and pajamas. But do you know flannel has great moisture-wicking properties? The does not trap in moisture and instead repel it.

A high-quality flannel made of wool material is breathable, warm, and comfortable. Even if you pour some water on a wool-based flannel shirt, it will stay dry due to its incredible hydrophilic inner layer and hydrophobic outer layer.

Final Words
